The purpose of the Auxiliary is to provide service, love and to direct our efforts towards the complete spiritual and physical comfort of the patients.

We welcome, rather URGE our patients to take part in the services made possible by the Pink Ladies of the Golden Empire Hospital.

Through the generosity of the Golden Empire Hospital, we have space for a Pamper Parlor where our residents may have their hair styled, and a Craft Room where ceramic articles are made ready for the residents to paint.

All supplies for the following activities are provided (at no cost to the residents) by the Auxiliary through moderate annual membership dues, the sale of ceramics, contributions and memorials from generous family members.

PAMPER PARLOR

Ladies may have shampoos, sets and trims, on specified days by volunteer Pink Ladies. Permanents are given when arrangements are made in advance, and when a volunteer is available.

CERAMICS

Ceramic articles are made by volunteers. They pour the molds, clean and prepare the pieces for firing. The residents do the painting. They may paint one article for themselves, and then make one for the Auxiliary to be sold from the display cases in the entrance area.

The proceeds of all sales are used for needed supplies and added to the general treasury. Residents often make gifts for their families and friends. There are two annual sales, one at Easter and another at Halloween. Both sales are open to the public.

MOVIES

Movies are shown each week in the dining room on the 16' screen provided by the Pink Ladies through their donations and earnings.

BINGO

The volunteer Pink Ladies assist the residents in finding the numbers on their cards and conducting the game. Prizes are provided by the Auxiliary and through donations from families and friends. Items such as: Kleenex, perfume, jewelry, men's handkerchiefs, stationary, etc. are among the most popular items. This is a very popular activity.

NON-DENOMINATIONAL SERVICES

A non-denominational church service is held every Friday afternoon in the dining room. Our dedicated members, and local ministers, conduct the service. Song books and any needed supplies are furnished by the Auxiliary. Special services are held on Easter and Christmas, families are also encouraged to attend.

CATHOLIC SERVICES

Tuesday mornings at 10:30 Catholic services are held by the volunteers weekly. Father conducts services once a month.

CHRISTMAS

A gift of assorted fruit or cookies, gaily wrapped, is prepared and presented to each resident. A Christmas party is planned with pie and coffee.

SPECIAL HOLIDAYS

Holiday favors or treats are given for New Years, Valentine's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas. Our chairman solicits local organizations to participate in making the favors. Supplies are furnished by the Auxiliary, if needed.

ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Held in June, entertainment is supplied.

MONTHLY BIRTHDAY PARTY AND OTHER HOSPITAL ACTIVITIES

The hospital has many activities which are not listed here, such as monthly birthday parties and the Christmas Party. The Pink Ladies are often asked to assist in the serving, providing pies and cakes, and/or getting the residents from their room. The Auxiliary, Administrator, and Activities Director all work in very close harmony with each other.
