Golden Empire Nursing & Rehab Center has an outstanding inpatient Rehabilitation Department. We have a fully staffed Therapy Department offering Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Massage Therapy services. We specialize in rehabilitation of adult and geriatric orthopedic and neurologic disorders.
Physical Therapy
Our Licensed Physical Therapists and their assistance work closely to provide thorough and comprehensive treatments for orthopedic, neurological and medically compromised conditions. Physical Therapy evaluates and sets up a comprehensive treatment program to address the patient’s individual needs and goals. Treatments include but are not limited to strengthening, balance training, ambulation training, functional mobility training, education and pain management.
Occupational Therapy
Golden Empire Occupational Therapists treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. We help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. We also educate patient families about how to accommodate and care for their loved ones. When needed, we help with and recommend medical devices such as wheelchairs and eating aids, and instruct patients and family members on how to use their equipment.
Speech Therapy
Our licensed Speech Pathologists at Golden Empire hold a master’s degree in Speech Pathology, maintain a Certificate of Clinical Competence and are active members of the National American Speech Language and Hearing Association. They provide therapy for swallowing disorders and communication deficits. Here at Golden Empire, our Speech Pathologists specialize in language recovery after stroke, mild cognitive impairment, communication needs related to dementia and transition from tube feeding to oral feeding.
Tender Touch Therapy
Our wonderful and Certified Massage Therapist Leslie Ramos is available by appointment.
Tender Touch incorporates therapeutic massage, aromatherapy, sensory &
tactile stimulation and music to develop an environment in which a person finds
stress reduction and relaxation.
The use of therapeutic, age appropriate massage has been proven to
reduce pain and muscle stiffness, helping one perform daily
activities with much more comfort.
Tender Touch can:
