At Golden Empire Nursing and Rehab Center, We strive to improve the residents' quality of life, as well as give them special attention and TLC. We take extra steps to care for the whole person:
Auxiliary
The purpose of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary is to improve the residents' quality of life, as well as giving them special attention and TLC. Auxiliary members encourage all residents to take part in the services and activities they make possible.
Through the generosity of Golden Empire, we have a Pamper Parlor (Beauty Shop) where our residents may have their hair styled and nails painted. All supplies for the following activities are provided (at no cost to the residents) by the Auxiliary through moderate annual membership dues, the sale of ceramics, contributions and memorials from generous family members. Bingo, Tea Parties and Ice Cream Socials are just some of the fun activities in our spacious main dining area.
Annual Ice Cream Social
Each
June the Pink Ladies Auxiliary hosts an ice cream social for the
residents. It is held in the main dining room and on the patio, with
live entertainment and carnival style decorations.
Monthly Birthday Party and Other Activities
The Pink Ladies hold monthly birthday parties, and often assist in serving the cake and ice cream and getting residents to and from their rooms. They also help with other events, including taking residents to the Nevada County Fair in August, where they can see their ceramics on display. Golden Empire has an annual Seniors Ball, complete with a live band. The residents dress up for the occasion and dance the night away. It is an eagerly anticipated event. Our Dietary Department furnishes a special monthly birthday dinner for the residents and their families. As with all of our activities, the Auxiliary, Administrator, Dietary Department, and Activities Director all work in very close harmony with each other.
Services and Holidays at Golden Empire
Holidays are celebrated at Golden Empire, and favors or treats are given for New Years, Valentine's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas. Supplies are furnished by the Auxiliary. Of course, Jay our Dietary Manager makes special holiday meals for residents and staff to enjoy.
Non-Denoninational Services
A
non-denominational church service is held every Friday afternoon in the
dining room. Our dedicated members, and local ministers, conduct the
service. Song books and any needed supplies are furnished by the
Auxiliary. Special services are held on Easter and Christmas, families
are also encouraged to attend.
Catholic Services
Tuesday mornings at 10:30, weekly Catholic services are held by the volunteers. Father conducts services once a month.
Christmas
Gifts
of assorted fruit, cookies, and other holiday goodies are prepared,
wrapped, and presented to each resident. A Christmas party is held,
complete with home-made pie, coffee, and live entertainment.
Beauty Shop
The Beauty Shop is where the Pink Ladies
host their Pamper Parlor. The Beauty Shop is here to make residents
feel well taken care of and special. We try our best to make them feel
appreciated and cared for, and they seem to really like the extra TLC.
