Medical Care
Our Commitment to You
Our commitment is to excellence in all we do, providing the highest
quality of life for our residents with compassionate, personalized care.
Directed by the Administrator, Golden Empire has 148 beds, including separate wings featuring short-term rehabilitation, long-term active residents, and our special 18-bed secured Alzheimer’s/dementia unit, which is specifically designed to provide safety and comfort and reduce disorientation for those residents.
Each resident is evaluated on an ongoing basis by a team of health care professionals, including a Psychiatrist, Pharmacist, Registered Dietician, a full spectrum of Rehab personnel led by Director of Rehab Heidi Lien, a Social Services team, an Activity Specialist, Licensed Nurses led by Director of Nursing Shari Antonucci R.N., Medical Director Dr. Christopher Claydon M.D., and the residents’ individual physicians.
Registered nurses are on staff 24 hours a day. All of our Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants are specially trained in geriatric care, Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our staff-to-client ratio is higher than many other facilities. The health, happiness and safety of our residents is our number one priority.
At Golden Empire, many common medical tests can be performed, and we outsource to the local hospital, a block away. Golden Empire doctors and nurses have remote access to patient test records at the hospital via our linked databases, and so results can be determined quickly.
Golden Empire Is Always On Duty
Why are we are proud of our nursing and staffing levels? Stop by for a tour to see why for yourself. Your loved ones will be under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Claydon, with a Registered Nurse on site 24-7, with abundant CNA and LVN support on site 24 hours a day. Our employees have plenty of help, and they feel supported. This energizes and uplifts them, and is why you and your loved ones will feel so well cared for.
Nurses Are Everywhere
Nurses are plentiful at Golden Empire, and many have been working there for over a decade. Nurses all wear white so they are easy to spot by residents and fellow team members alike, with caps worn by RNs and LVNs.
Golden Empire is also a Clinical Training Site for the Unitec College LVN and Sierra College CNA programs for the observations of practices and standards.
