Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital has an outstanding inpatient and outpatient Rehabilitation Department. We have a fully staffed physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy department and massage therapy services. We specialize in rehabilitation of adult and geriatric orthopedic and neurologic disorders. We accept a variety of third party payment sources as well as private pay. Our newly renovated therapy rooms are fully equipped to provide individualized services, independent of the skilled section of the hospital, in a professional and confidential setting.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Our licensed physical therapists and their assistants have an average of 17 years of experience in the treatment of orthopedic, neurologic, and chronic pain patients. As a team they are trained in strength and conditioning, manual therapy, lumbar spine stabilization and joint rehabilitation.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy has a therapy studio apartment which allows for simulation of needed home skills to develop independence in the areas of food preparation, laundry, dressing, hygiene and toileting skills. There are two licensed occupational therapists and one certified occupational therapy assistant on staff. Staff experience includes splinting, arthritis care, craniosacral therapy, acupressure, and sensory integration.

SPEECH THERAPY

Our speech therapy services include therapy for swallowing disorders and assisted aphasia therapy; both of which are only available locally at Golden Empire. We have two licensed speech pathologists with an average of 30 years of experience. Background of our staff includes extensive dysphagia training and expertise in head and neck cancer, voice disorders and neurological communication disorders.

MASSAGE THERAPY

We also have a certified massage therapist with geriatric training who works with chronic pain, circulatory problems, muscle tension, anxiety, insomnia and dementia.
