Our Administrator, Pat Ivey

Native to Grass Valley and raising two boys here, Pat accepted a position at Golden Empire (known as Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital at that time) at the age of 27. Attending the CNA program here, Pat became a CNA in February of 1982. She immediately fell in love with these precious people.

She continued in her education in October of 1982 when she was accepted into an LVN program (funded by S.W.E.T.A and GECH). This was an investment for Golden Empire that has payed off. Pat continued working as a LVN in a variety of positions. Floor nurse, charge nurse and wound nurse for several years. Pat was again asked to obtain more education as a Director of Staff Development. From 1983 until 2008 she was the clinical instructor for the CNA program. Along with this job she was given the Infection Control, Safety Officer, and Staffing Director for nursing.

Then in 2009 Pat was again offered more education to become assistant administrator. So she then entered the AIT program, completing 1,000 hours of education in all departments. Pat then worked by the administrator's side for the next 8 years learning the administrative position and its responsibilities. in 2017 she decided to study for administrator state and federal test to obtain her license. This was while still working 60 hours a week.

Pat received her license in October of 2018 and accepted the position on January 1st of 2019 when her Administrator Vicki Young retired. "I thank Golden Empire's owners for having faith in me and helping me reach my goal for the past 38 years. I thank God for guiding my foot steps, and all my co-workers for their support and encouragement. I love the residents, staff, families and the volunteers that I have known over the years."

Pat welcomes you and your loved ones to come tour Golden Empire Nursing and Rehab Center. The number to call to make a reservation: 530 273-1316.

Testimonials

To the Staff,

I had excellent care while I was at Golden Empire and it was greatly appreciated. I want to thank you for the use of the wheelchair.

I've just gotten to the point being able to get down the steps to my yard without the wheelchair. It has been a great help.

Thanks again,

Juanita Thompson
